Base uses EVM-compatible wallets and contracts, making the creator workflow familiar to anyone who has used Ethereum applications. A meme coin launch still requires choices about liquidity, first buy, token identity and post-launch verification.
Connect to Base
Use an EVM wallet, switch to Base and make sure the wallet has enough ETH for both the launch value and network gas. Confirm the chain again inside the wallet before signing.
Choose the market structure
A direct V3 launch places liquidity into a concentrated-liquidity market immediately. This differs from a bonding curve that graduates later. The creator should know which model is being used because it changes what progress indicators and market-cap milestones mean.
Review the launch parameters
Read the token name and ticker, wallet destination, transaction value and any first-buy amount. A creator first buy is optional market participation, not part of the token supply definition. Treat it as a real swap with slippage and price impact.
Verify the resulting token
After confirmation, use the Base explorer to validate contract deployment and events. Check that the token page resolves the same address and that the liquidity pool and first swap appear as expected.
Create useful community context
Give buyers one canonical link and a concise explanation of the meme or community. Avoid publishing multiple conflicting contract addresses or relying on screenshots that cannot be verified.
Practical launch checklist
Before opening the wallet confirmation, verify the selected network, token name and ticker, creator wallet, launch contract and amount required for liquidity. If a first buy is included, treat it as a separate real trade and confirm its value. Leave enough native asset for gas. A launch should be cancelled when the wallet points to the wrong chain or contract, or when simulation predicts a revert that has not been explained.
After confirmation, save the transaction hash and canonical token address. Verify the pool or curve, holder list, first trade, LP custody and source code where available. Then publish one canonical token URL so community members are not forced to choose among conflicting addresses. These steps are simple, but they prevent many of the most common launch and discovery errors.
Before you publish the token
- Use a clear name, ticker and icon.
- Confirm the wallet is on the intended network.
- Review liquidity and first-buy amounts separately.
- Check the destination launch contract.
- Keep the transaction hash and explorer link.
- Publish the canonical address after confirmation.
